Suspect in Family Research Council Shooting Was LGBT Center Volunteer - A security guard at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian group that promotes antigay positions, was shot Wednesday morning as a gunman who reportedly expressed disagreement with the organization's views tried to enter the building. - http://www.advocate.com/crime/2012/08/15/family-research-council-guard-shot-dc

I condemn this action, in the strongest possible terms. Violence in the name of ideology, is never acceptable. Not all the facts are out in regards to the individual. Still, I am reminded that all organizations may contain those who may have psychological problems including the LGBT.

Prominent Antigay Evangelical Blogger Outed as Gay - Jonathan Merritt, the son of famous evangelist James Merritt, has become a prominent evangelical blogger, writing for, among others, USA Today and The Atlantic (where he most recently wrote about his support of Chick-fil-A). Turns out he's, as Queerty puts it, also "a deeply conflicted gay man" who just got busted for canoodling with gay blogger Azariah Southworth. - http://www.advocate.com/society/coming-out/2012/07/27/prominent-antigay-evangelical-blogger-outed-gay

Who’d of thought?

Group: Vt. conviction boosts gay parents' rights - The conviction of a Virginia pastor on charges he helped a woman flee the country rather than share custody of her child with her former lesbian partner did little to answer just where the girl and her mother are. - http://www.seattlepi.com/news/article/Pastor-guilty-in-same-sex-union-custody-case-3788901.php

This is just one more incident, in a growing list of illegal actions, being taken by conservative religious extremists and their ideological thralls, against homosexuals.

The lgbt are but human and contain the worst and the best of humankind... but no violence is acceptable in the name of ideology or for any other reason.. and we should condemn it long, hard and instinctively... acting violently against people or organisations which are anti lgbt marks us out and gives those who hate us more capital to use against us which they surely will in their twisted way when the time comes for a reckoning no matter how much capital we have on them...

..the other issues speak for themselves, but it is good to know that at least in some parts of the world the law is not always on the side of the "righteous". How long it remains so in the US at least, is anyone's guess...
