I agree this post has no poll. But, that could be a good thing. So, maybe a poll on the merits of a thread that needs a poll for unknown reasons but doesn't and requires comments for unknown reasons elsewhere.

I agree that we need to be clear on whether a poll is warranted for a thread that lacks one for reasons unknown, with or without comments. Although if comments are given, wouldn't you say that the source of said comments must be clearly denoted as needing to be specified, regardless of the position of the poll (whether in this or another thread) and the position taken in the poll by posters?

Are we commenting?
Are we polling?

Can we beat pole_smoker with the poll? Or do we need a pole? (Not a Polish person, an actual metal pole.)

Some clarity would be appreciated!

This one of the most useful meaningless threads that I've seen here in the last week. There's even a bit of humor which has been lacking for awhile.
