OK, Barry White and Lionel Richie have made a (somehow cheesy?) business out of it.
What song do you think is the most appropriate for sex? And the least?

Best:
Underwater Love by Smoke City (remember the early 2000s Levi's ad with the mermaids)
Glory Box by Portishead (ooooh bass line)

Worst
Barbie Girl by Aqua

Best:

"A little Bit More" By Jamie Liddell

Worst:

"My neck, my back" by Khia (the lyrics are okay, but it's just her VOICE.)

i think any barry manilow song is great

the worst for myself is that country song. Don't Go Lovin' On Nobody But Me.

that song came on the computer the one night when we were fooling around. i hate that song and it totally killed the mood.

can't think of anymore but when/if i do i'll be sure to add more

Best: Closer - Nine Inch Nails

Worst: So many that qualify. I was surfing porn the other night and found a compilation of facials. At first I was really excited about that. Then the video started to play and the music bed was "Ht Me With Your Best Shot". After my giggling subsided I had to put the thing on mute to enjoy what I was seeing.

This was also my best. It's called Closer and is on the Downward Spiral album. Pretty much any NIN is good sex music for me, but this is by far my fave.

Have to agree with Misty on Closer. Love that song.

Worst could be so many...the wacka wacka music from 70s porn and tv shows although I'm sure many have wacked off to it. Sorry Tasha, just can't picture doing it to the Sound of Music either. :tong:

:flag4: Anyone Like Jazz? I do, so my fav for lovemaking is Kenny G's , "Everytime I close my eyes with Babyface or "The Moment". As far as the least, Turnoffs for me are any Rap or Heavy Metal.

Worst? Why, John Philip Sousa, of course.

Oh but John Philip Sousa would be great for some heavy banging. Just think of thrusting to that!

Best:
"Principles of Lust" by Enigma (but almost anything off their 'MCMXC a.D.' album works!)

"Drive" by Melissa Ferrick (on the 'Freedom' album)

Worst:
plain radio -- the commercial breaks always seem to happen at the most inopportune times.

any "bubble gum" pop music

Bests:
Depends...
100% pure fucking: "Rabies" by Element 80, because I'm weird.
Sweet/tender sex: "Smother Me" by The Used

But really, the music is just because I can't stand silence, and almost anything I can tolerate listening to is fine.

Worsts:
"Afternoon Delight" -Starland Vocal Band, you know, the song in Anchorman "Sky rocket's in flight, afternoon delight"...I'd giggle the hole time
"Show me yo bootyhole" by Saosin. Also because I'd just giggle the entire time.
Anything country or rap.

Best: "Your body is a wonderland" (Acoustic Version) by John Meyer.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to throw my lot in with Herb, Misty and genera101.2 w/"Closer" by NIN; but I'm gonna throw in "Perfect Drug", too.
"Say Yes" by Floetry is a good one too.

Worst:"Kryptonite" by 3doors Down. My ex boyf ruined it for me.

And just what happens when you get to the inevitable pussy or ass fart? Don't tell me you're serious during that occurrence?

Sex is supposed to BE about fun... least, that's what I do it for :)

For sweet love-making, nothing beats Roxy Music's Avalon. For getting sweaty and slippery, try The Cure's Disintegration.

I don't generally listen to music when I have sex.

I'd put some NIN/industrial/instrumental electronica (especially ambient music) on when I do SM or maybe bondage though.

Have a fairly wide taste in "Best" music catagory...

:suave: Sensual Encounters: old sultry blues, older or instrumental jazz (not freeform), soft classical, and ballads by Sade, etc.

 Everyday Sex: Ambient Jazz, James Blunt, Depeche Mode, Metric, and selected ballads by U2, George Michaels, REM ... I'm pretty open in this catagory.

:girl: Girl-on-Girl Fun: Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Lisa Loeb, Amanda Marshall, Melissa Etheridge, Enigma. (also my preference for solo performances.. lol)

 Occasional Pure F*ck: *Billy Talent*, Trance, some Brit Punk and Alternative.

The "Worst" music genres (for my personal taste) are:

:cowboy: Old Country Music: nothing like listening to 'love gone wrong' during sex.

 Heavy Metal/Industrial: nothing like not knowing what you're listening to during sex.

 Bubblegum Pop or Oldies Rock: nothing like getting a song that you associate with your teens or your parents stuck in your head during sex.

:smilies15: Finally - I *have* to share this one!! A friend of mine divulged they knew someone who lost their virginity to the theme song from 'Bonanza'... on PURPOSE!! Apparently he'd call his roommates and play the song whenever he was gonna get laid so they wouldnt come home!!! (Can you imagine the poor girl....)

We should also include the song you lost your virginity to in this thread, assuming you have one. Sadly mine was "She's Like the Wind" by Patrick Swayze (from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack)... and unfortunately the song outlasted the sex... :eek2:

Fun: My life with the thrill kill kult, Delerium, Lords of Acid, KMFDM (sex on the flag) Deep Forest, Cocteau Twins, Miranda Sex Garden, Bella Morte, Rhea's Obsession, Joni Mitchell, Portishead
Inbetween fun and disturbing - Suffocation, Absu, Tool, Carcass, Apoptygma Berzerk
Flat Out Bad- I don't feel like slagging anyone, but off the top of me head: Anything involving Yentirb. Only by saying her name backwards can you send her back to the fires that spawned her :yikes2:

Well, for really dark sex, there's always Darkthrone (albums "A Blaze In The Northern Sky", "Under A Funeral Moon" and "Transilvanian Hunger").

For soft and let's say gentle sex Satyricon with their last two albums are best.

I'ts not about passion, it just shows a strenght and extreme expression of yourself, discovering your darkest and deepest secrets.

And worst....well Metallica of course. They really kill any desire for making love....or any other stupid thrash or death metal.

yeah, jazz, new age, electronica,,,all thats good for background, just not at mega decibel levels..... wanna add some sultry raunch? get DJ Traids' cd full of orgasmic sounds.. she has it listed here someplace.. great way to add more aural stimulation when it's really late in the night..

Best mood music: Norah Jones, Carole King, James Taylor and Linda Rondstadt with the Nelson Riddle Orchastra or.. for someone that I truly crave.... nothing more than the sound of their passion.

Worst mood music: Bubble gum pop, 80's power ballads and the gods awful rap.

Yes, I am all of 33, but an old soul is lost in music of the past.
