View Full Version : Physical Attraction Q: To Same or Opposites?

As with anything human, there are as many variables as there are people. Some are physically attracted to their opposites, i.e. skinny to large, clean to bear, etc. and vice-versa -- or to similar.
In one sense, I've felt ashamed to be attracted only to those who are similar to me, which is slim-skinny and low-hair to shaved, be it women or men.
And, being someone with some fair life-mileage in spiritual/philosophical things, the shame can get even heavier than the societal stuff.
I've even tried to "transcend" this preference, but it never worked.
Not proud of it, and it may have limited my opportunities, but it is what it is. I'm also aware that body types are also representations of personality traits and archetypes in a way, so it's not all a skin-deep thing.
The human heart, psyche and spirit are multi-layered things.
Q: What are your particular leanings - same or opposite?

Hello. Well for me I find men close to my age or younger and same body type, thin, white and little to no hair. Howerver for women I find large(not quite BBW) and a good patch of hairbetween there legs vary attractive.
So I guess in my case its same for men and oppsite for women. Not sure what tht means or what is says about me. I'm sure there are some people on here with some psycological training who can explain it.
Cheers all.

I have been tall and thin for most of my life, but age has brought with it a thickening, I'm afraid. I am superficially drawn to shorter people than me, with varying degrees of figures and weight. Smooth, voluptuous Reubenesque bodies are most attractive to me. I would prefer chubby to slim and even somewhat fat over skinny. That includes both male and females.
However, the things that overcome those superficially motivated attractions are intelligence, compatibility, and communication skills. I am easily distracted from my interest in certain body types, by those with nerdy and quirky, but decent and caring personalities. Passion for similar interests are sure to win me over. I appreciate those who have desires that equal, or parallel mine, then understand how to convert that desire into action.
My last male lover was an example of almost every characteristic I've found desirable in guys. He was very pleasant-looking, smaller, soft and smooth, exceptionally sensual and sexually needy, but in strange and quirky ways. He was brilliant, magnificent conversationalist, extremely interesting, and open-minded. He gave me some of the most earth-shattering orgasms of recent years. Family pressures, personal demons and a past that included drug use, left him paranoid and self loathing. It was sweet, brief........ our relationship only lasted a few months..it was bitter-sweet, at best.
My bisexual GF is the epitome of everything I find desirable in a female lover. She is pretty, sweet-natured, intelligent, tolerant, and one of the most open-minded women I've ever known. She is also voluptuous with large breasts and a stunning hip-to-waist ratio. Her need for love and sexual interaction is as severe as anyone I've ever known. And, her constantly telling me that I fulfill her every sexual and emotional need is a huge ego boost for me, as well.
Life can be good!

Similar to a thread below.
howeer ... I find I am attracted to similar people on an intellectual level. Both men and women.
Physically, there are a few triggers which preclude attraction, whilst on reflection, yes, i tend to be more attracted to women of similar build to myself.
Of cousr at my age, most women have a tiny little padding, so maybe my attraction thingy is unavoidable.
