So...

I want to be safe...but I want to swallow!!!

Is there an over-the-counter aids test that is reliable?

Do they give results right then and there?

hugs everyone!!!

The testing kits test you for HIV, not AIDS.

If you're that nervous about your partner's status or don't know if they're negative or poz, don't have sex with them at all, or have them get tested and don't swallow them or let their semen get in your mouth at all.

There's always condoms but really, what's the point of that? They can still fail even for giving oral sex and even the flavored and non flavored ones taste nasty!

I've used an HIV testing kit but they have you bleed on a card, register the kit, and you fed ex it into a lab and it's tested and within a few days you get the results when you call in.

Be advised, HIV can take up to 6 months to show up, a person will test negative until their body produces the HIV antibodies that are tested for, and some people do not produce the HIV antibodies that get tested for and only a viral load test would show them as being HIV poz but HIV antibody tests would show them as being negative.

I agree with your assessment. However, even before HIV, sex and all else about life has never been free of risk. While risk can be minimized, I advise him to not minimize his life in the pursuit of avoiding risk.

Yes there a HIV test you can buy. It is called HOME ACCESS, costs about $60.00. Sold at CVS PHARMACY. It is the only home testing kit that is approved by the FDA. The kit includes next day day shipping. I have used this kit several times. Easy to understand instructions. You get the results in 2-3 days at the longest.

Here are some places you can go to get HIV and STD testing in the Philadelphia area:

http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/ohe/services/HIV-testsites.htm

http://www.mazzonicenter.org/about/index.php

http://www.aidslibrary.org/pdf/2008%20philadelphia.pdf

http://www.stdtestexpress.com/std-test-center/?address=Philadelphia%2C+PA

The first 3 do have some free testing available. The last one is a commercial testing facility that is a little pricey.

There are many free HIV testing sites available in almost any metropolitan area. Just Google "HIV testing"+"your city" and you should get some good info.

Philadelphia brought up 93,000 sites.

Be certain of your status and don't be afraid to ask for theirs.

In the clubs I belong to in the LA area, we require that our members be tested every 3 months.

bity-What happens if a member of one of your "clubs" tests POZ? Are they kicked out?

They're certainly going to be ostracized and everyone will stop having sex with them, and they'll be treated like a pariah that's for sure.

People lie about their status all the time when it's clear that they're POZ and lying about it. There are little signs that you'll be able to pick up over time to be able to tell if someone is POZ and lying about it.

Or they're unsure/untested, so they say that they're NEG since in their minds there is no way that they could be POZ when they actually are POZ.

Also people will lie about how they do high risk sex and use crystal meth.

I've seen loads of profiles where someone will write how they're NEG and DDF (drug disease free), and then on other sites they'll say how they do not use condoms, swallow loads, and use crystal meth.

Like I wrote you can test NEG at the 3 month mark, and still be or wind up being POZ especially if you've recently seroconverted and it hasn't been 6 months, or you can be NEG at the 6 month mark but still POZ since you are one of those people who do not produce HIV antibodies.

Getting tested rapidly every 3 months is pointless as it takes 6 months to show that someone actually is HIV negative, or HIV POZ.

If you're having sex with a large number, or any number of people who are in turn having sex with a large number of people of unknown status, or who don't practise safer sex then you're playing with fire.

If you're having sex with someone who isn't confirmed NEG with tests or who you don't know at all, or who has an HIV status of 'unknown' assume that they are POZ and practice safer sex if you want to stay NEG.

There's no CURE or VACCINE for HIV, there probably will not be one, and the best way to stay NEG is not to have sex with POZ people, and assume that someone is POZ unless they're proven NEG. Very good friends of mine became POZ just because idiots that are POZ didn't just tell them the truth or say, "Woah hold up, I'm HIV+ we should use barriers if we have any penetrative sex."

Yes you can get HIV from giving oral sex. Don't let the naysayers fool you.

I have friends who became POZ and they certainly didn't get it from anal sex since they are not into it. Taking cum into your mouth or swallowing is very unsafe as you can get HIV and other STDs this way. It's not as dangerous as rimming is though since with rimming you can get multiple strains of Hepatitis including C which there is no cure for.

I have friends who are POZ and it pisses me off how they are treated by people at sex clubs and the ignorant public at large.

AmericanBeauty, the name "bityme" stands for "bi time," it has nothing to do with size. (I'm not offended, it happens all the time, some think its about biting. LOL)

Members who test positive are not "kicked out" but it does cut down on the number that will play with them. If someone is positive, I'll play with them, but only manually or with toys. I think that is a reasonable precaution and obviates the practice of ostracizing them. We all practice safer sex, its not as though we throw caution to the wind because of the testing requirement.

I don't agree with you that testing every 3 months is pointless. Yes, there is a lag time of up to 6 months before the antibodies are detectable, but a 3 month testing cycle gets you the results sooner. A 6 month cycle means you could have as much as 11 months after exposure before you detect the problem. A 3 month cycle shortens this to a maximum of 8 months.

We ask our members to have their certificates with them when we party. I guess that is one of the reasons that we have a fairly close-knit group. Asking for the certificates seems to weed out those who falsely list themselves as positive or just don't know themselves.

I feel more comfortable with people who test more often. They tend to also be more careful in making sure they are practicing safer sex. I agree with you that not using condoms, swallowing loads, rimming, etc. can be dangerous. For me and for those I normally play with, these activities do not constitute safer sex.

Yes, people lie and nothing is certain. If we don't like the option of celibacy, then there are some risks we expose ourselves to. Hopefully, everyone will take advice like you have given and do their best to minimize that risk.
