View Full Version : So...um...have you ever hired an escort?

Okay so lately I've had escorts on the brain. To be honest, I've always said that sort of thing is definitely not for me. Hell I hate spending money, especially money that can go to my Blu-Ray or comic book collection. :tong: Plus I was sure it was illegal, which means it is a definite no-no to me. Sex isn't worth losing freedom over.
BUT after reading about The Hookies 2010 (awards for male escorts) and being in a chat room where some spam showed up advertising an escorts site with a decent price ($159 for two hours), well my curiosity has risen. A lot.
Honestly, it has been close to four years since I last did anything physical with another man. I'm 26 and totally have the okay from my 5-year-long-so-far girlfriend to mess with guys on the side. But I don't have lots of time to look for guys, or lots of time for the actual hook-ups. I'm kind of tired of going on web sites and chat rooms only to find guys that aren't my type at all, or guys who would rather talk about how "bisexual" makes no sense to them, or my relationship agreement with my girlfriend isn't right. It is four years of trying to hook up with guys (all be it with a bit of limited time) and failing.
Frankly if I can actually find a guy who is my type and available when I am, well I'm willing to pay to spend time with such a guy.
The thing is, I've never done anything like this before. I was wondering if anybody here has, if there's any advice you can offer? Heck, is it legal? I think there's some technicality in the language that makes it legal, since you're just paying for a set-up for a date and whatever goes on isn't what's being paid for or something. Also I have some concerns of going with a site that I found via chat room span (granted, it was a chat room on a very trustworthy site). I'd post the name/link of the escort site here but I don't know if there are rules against such a thing (I hope there aren't rules about even asking this question...if there are I fully apologize, and please just delete this, I'm just very confused and feel like I needed to ask this somewhere and so far I've really felt trusting about this place and the people here). Like I said if it is something that I should NOT be doing or looking into, then I definitely won't. I'm just not sure if it is or what...

Honest answer to the question, No. I do feel for you though, and a quick search on google found this on a site "Prostitution
Prostitution is illegal in New York, for both sellers and buyers. It is not only illegal but dangerous with the problem of AIDS. Some drug addicts support their "drug habits" through prostitution. Police regularly "sweep" the streets of prostitutes and their customers. This can be embarrassing but is not a major criminal offense.
Escort services and massage parlors are legal. However, they can be covers for prostitution." So be wary indeed, I think there is specific verbiage and the escort service can give you more info on how to evade than anyone else but a lawyer :)
Good luck with your search :)

Sex Trade Workers are not for me but if it makes sense to you and you are able to find an escort service that you are comfortable with, I see no reason why not to go that route. I'm sure that you are a big boy and know about the risks about STD's and how to protect yourself.
Whether it is legal or not, is not important. It is unlikely that you would become involved in a sting operation. Smoking a joint is illegal but it has not stopped people from doing it. Sex Trade Workers have been around as long as history has been recorded.

I have tons of friends who are prostitutes. But I myself have never hired a prostitute. Some of you may know that my first boyfriend was an ex-prostitute. All of my friends who is/was a prostitute were high class and charged anywhere from $200-400 an hour.
Mostly patrons just paid for one hour, sometimes they got someone paying for 2 hours which normally meant that they wanted something "special" or they just wanted to talk.
My advice is to pay for the higher-class ones. They are good at what they do, and are very sexually safe... So the chances of catching/giving a STD is narrowed dramatically as compared to a random streetwalker (no disrespect). And normally when cops go undercover as hookers, they pretend to be the cheap ones you see hanging around street corners (I have cop friends as well). I've never heard of a cop going undercover as a high-class girl/boy, I don't even think they could get by with that.. Takes too much work, have to get a whole new expensive wardrobe and lets not even talk about the photography costs... And then after that you have to find a "manager."

Look people if you wish to have this site be perceived as welcoming, tolerant and accepting of sexual preferences, gender etc., try to use the term that is preferred for this type of job.
Workers in this business call their job..."Sex Trade Workers" and not "prostitutes". Some Sex Trade Workers are attempting to improve how society sees them and wants society to remove the stigma that has been attached to their business.

Sure Tenni, just as soon as the law quits stating that sex for money is a crime and people who get paid to sleep with others are prostitutes and the crime is no longer booked as prostitution, then we will call everyone sex trade worker.
But just so we are clear........ not all escorts are prostitutes. What I posted was from a new york law site and it was plain as day. Prostitution is illegal, escort is not but some escort services are covers for prostitution.
There are many men and women who work as paid escorts and it's not for sex. They accompany men and women to various functions as arm candy and possibly intelligent conversation. They do not hire out for a quickie normally. That's where the difference lies.

Homosexuality is illegal in some places. Arguing that something is illegal is not valid enough to dismiss a request to call Sex Trade Workers by a term that they prefer.
Why don't you just call the bisexuals on this website "fags" and "perverts"? That is what we may be called by some.
I sense that there is some thought of non acceptance for Sex Trade Workers not too far under your words?

I agree with you darkeyes. I admit to having some discomfort with the Sex Trade industry myself. There has been a lot of discussion in my arts community lately about this subject. I have someone in my family that worked as a Sex Trade Worker for awhile. I can see a lot of negatives in this business but will at least use a term that they prefer to be used. Not all Sex Trade Workers are like my family member but some do have issues like her. Still, when a marginalized group requests that we (the public) begin to use a term, I will and promote it.

You're right of course, Twyla.. many are not for hire for fullfilling a persons fantasies.. and performing sex acts for money.. whether they can't be called sex workers is arguable just the same.. because for the most part there remains a sexual connotation.. is not eye candy sexual? Yet on the other hand many escorts, ostensibly working for the respectable end of the market and whose employer does not employ them to be anything other than what you describe, do turn a trick or two as private arrangements outwith their terms of contract. Many are also self employed and God knows what if anything they get up to...
..and prostitution is not a crime in this country, or in very many European countries.. in some.. the Netherlands for instance it is very much regulated like any other business and is as legal and above board if not quite so respectable, as say running a corner shop or a farm. Some countries do make it difficult for them to ply their trade.. my own for instance but it thrives nonetheless but with many dangers and not just from STD's... and those who do get caught out by the Revenue are as liable to pay taxes for their work as anyone else..

You might want to ask your girlfriend if she is all right with you hiring a prostitute. That might not what she had in mind when she consented you to have sex with a man.
Other than that, get tested beforehand, and six months after, and use a condom!

I'm not being prejudice, true I use the word prostitute a lot.. And I did use the word hooker, only to refer to the vice cops going undercover to bust Johns/Janes. But everyone one I know that is one, refers to themselves as prostitutes, very rarely do they use the title "sex trade worker." Maybe, they'll use "sex tread worker" on their website, or something.
It's not a big deal, they sell sex. It's their job. Most of all the people I know does not take offense. They aren't big into being politically correct. I have the utmost respect for their job, and they earn every dollar they make, considering the personal turmoil they get from their friends/family who does not accept what they do and all the many things that goes a long with it.

Thank you guys for all of the responses to my question. If you don't mind my responding to a few things:
1) I definitely wouldn't go the direction of hiring somebody "off the street" as it were. The reason why I'd go the "escort" direction is because it seems like (other than the legality of the language of an escort service) you are just generally going to end up with a cleaner/more professional person via a service. Just seems safer/smarter, if this is the direction I'm going in (IF, I still haven't decided yet).
2) Donkey_burger brought up a good point about my girlfriend. If she would be okay with it. Truth is, I don't know. I don't even know if I would be comfortable with telling her about it per se. I have joked/mentioned to her that if things ever got real desperate for me, we'd just have to go to Vegas where prostitution is legal. She wasn't against this (not that we had an intense conversation about it, but she definitely showed no signs of discomfort with the idea). I think overall her feeling would be that as long as I'm safe, both health wise and in the eyes of the law, she would ultimately be okay with it. But I just don't know that I could approach the conversation with her.
Right now I'm still not decided. Admittedly, since I posted this question, I've had a few nibbles (so to speak) on a hook-up web site. If any of these work out, then I'm pretty sure I'll be satisfied and not need to consider the escort route. Though of course the major "nibble" I had, which felt like it was leading to a definite hook-up, was followed up by the guy ignoring my e-mail and PM message on the site. So...yeah. This is what I mean by the wasting my limited 'net time on games. It just gets old.

Just to clarify things for you, prostitution is NOT legal in Las Vegas - or in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located. It is legal in some other counties in Nevada, however, in the brothels - Nye County, for instance, where the Chicken Ranch is (in the Pahrump, NV area) or Shady Lady Ranch in Beatty, Nevada, where they actually are experimenting with having a male prostitute/sex worker.

She posted her comment directly under my posting and does this to others as well. I read it as a personal attack on my perspective due to what I have read from her posts to others. She has frequently posted such paraphrased comments as "speak to the hand", "another thread shot to hell", "I'm bored of reading this. It has been discussed over and over". From my perspective her postings reflect a passive aggressive attitude to threads that have diverse views from her own or seem to be leaning into debate rather than warm, fuzzy emotive threads. She rarely offerred any intelligent thoughts to these controversial threads but seemed to want them to stop. As one of the long time posters to this site you sit with her clique or family.
People post here about tolerance but there is this long established group that seems to attempt to control what is posted on this site. They accept submissive inquiries for help and those that reflect their own morality. They seem to frequently label others who have divergent perspectives as trolls. The quickest way to dismiss and ridicule on this site is to call another poster a troll. Be a member of the clique and it is permissible to do snide personal passive aggressive attacks on others.
btw I have been a member of this site since at least 2007 but my user name was different. I lost my password and opened a new account. I sometimes read the threads but never posted or paid much attention.

I reallydon't want to get involved in an argument, but this just doesn't seem fair to me at all.
All of the quotes you just made are ones that I remember quite well, and you have taken them completely out of context. I remember the times when she has said things like "another thread shot to hell" and it was in a thread where not one person was being nice to one another and it was carrying on page after page and usually deviated from the main purpose of the thread anyway. That sounds to me like a time where a thread could be considered "shot to hell" doesn't it? Was she not just being honest? The one time I ever saw her say she was sick of reading something was during that whole cheating thread, and it was apparent that she said that because another thread filled with fighting about cheating had just been put to the back burner and then another popped up. Those are just some examples.
If you want to talk about passive aggressive, it sounds as though you fit into that category. I've seen you sit there and be rude and later apologize a few posts later and continue on with that cycle. Then suddenly one day a random insult comes flying out from your fingertips.
And I'm also confused over this clique thing. Why is it whenever someone has multiple people disagreeing with something they have said or done they can never sit back and wonder if maybe they had indeed done something wrong? Can't a group of people disagree with an individual without it being a conspiracy?
I think I've picked the wrong time to start being more active in this site, but like I said I just feel that this is all completely unfair.

bret, have you read the articles about how people use websites such as bisexual.com as a gathering point for people that share a sense of warmth and caring....????
the basis of this site is as a community site, its the reason for the creation so logic dictates that people would use it as a community site and have a sense of * family *
the same basis is applied to a house, for example your house, you have people gather there.... but its still a house.... but what you talk about in the house, is not always house related.... it could be * omg * about work.....
now the interesting aspect of the bisexual site, is it is called bisexual.com, not onlythingstodowithsexandbisdoingitandcocksandvagin asandcreampies.com
there is no obligation to make it strictly sex related, and that is the reason why we have people that post about a diverse range of topics
the advantage there is that we do not have about 10 thread topics about how sucking cock etc etc
the other advantage, is that we are showing guests and new people that bisexuals can think beyond their dicks, and by posting different threads that discuss issues and allow differences of opinion, that we are also, not all dicks either.....
for the most part, we are very accepting, and free thinkers.... and clearly you are at odds with that.... tenni was not accepting of the ways others express themselves, and was at odds with the fact that other member had a life outside of getting laid.... and you can support that, its fine...
but I was really posting to say that I noticed one thing.... your post is near identical in style, wording and phrasing as another person.... gayazn, the member of 101 names, and one agenda.... to be a asshole and ruin the experience of this site for others.....
now I am not accusing you of being a troll, or a multi..... and nor do I intend to.... as lets be honest, I have no intend of trying to be offensive or insulting..... I leave that for the people that are driving the decent people from the site.... all for the crime of not be sex addicted, narrow minded, self opinionated......... mmm.... whats a good curse word to put there ?????

I just read all of the post here on this thread and in my opinion..........not that it is correct or if anyone even gives a shit but....Tenni was a rude fuck for saying that towards Rissa......Tenni, if you don't like what she writes about....aahhh....don't read it, but who the fuck are you to make a statement like that about her posting about her family, her dogs, and everything else that means something to her....whether it does to you or not. And by the way, I don't say "sex trade whatever......I say prostitute.....get over it, just because it is not the term you prefer does not mean it is not the correct term.......the justice system still terms it as prostitution. It is sad for the person who was actually looking for some info/advice on the subject.....which is what this is orginally intended for.We will miss you Rissa.........not you though Tenni.

All sites even this one have their cliques, the status quo, popularity contests, and mob rule as we've seen with the posts in this topic and a few others about how people like to think that random strangers on the internet are an actual community or take the place of actual friends and family which is quite sad when you think about it.
The people who constantly post about how this site is their family or an actual real community that's very accepting when it's nothing but just a website, are sad and are the ones to watch out for since they are emotional energy vampires that thrive on drama, acceptance, and they do not have lives of their own or feel loved off site, they do not have that many friends off of this site and these people are not your friends as people have posted about before and there have been articles about internet friendships and relationships and how they're not real.
If some random person who was not that well known on this site posted a drama ridden post like Rissa did about leaving nobody would care.
Rise above it and all the petty BS that they love to throw around about acceptance and be a free thinker.
What you posted in this topic was not offensive and who cares if one mental midget like Rissa thought that it was? If you've noticed a lot of posts by people in the clique have nothing to do with sex, bisexuality, or sexuality at all and are more suited for private messages, emails, blogs, and not on this site and wasting space on the forum and are not suited for this site.

Being bisexual isn't just about sexual attraction and matters, the same people have lives too, and as people become familiar with each other on here they share more. It’s a mark of a good community when we rise above just creating sex threads, although as they aren't puerile they have their place too. It also shows new members that there is an established family where the bicurious can ask questions to members who will offer support if that’s what they are looking for.. In the case of the escort thread it was exactly that and well put.
Its easy to reduce 'internet friends' as something that aren't real but judging by the emotions displayed in the forums, for those people it is a real part of their lives and for some a precursor to coming out to a friend etc. We all have lives outside of here which is why I hadn't seen the negativity that entered the thread until I saw that Rissa had 'left'. Tenni, you used 'being PC' as a cheap way to prompt a reaction, and it looked like you got what you wanted; I hope you're proud of yourself. Baiting other members is tantamount to flaming and is potential troll behaviour and Tenni, just because you've been here almost as long as myself it doesn't make you immune to turning trollish. Long time members are well aware that getting personal is out of order and unfortunately familiarity breeds contempt even in forums.
Its taken me awhile to learn this, but as my father once said 'if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing'; that doesn't mean don't react to the opinion, just don't attack the person.
I may not have read Rissa's personal stuff in detail, (because I chose not to), but I will defend her right to post it.
..and Tenni, be warned, I am the enemy of the PC police, Lenny Bruce is my inspiration for that, and using it as a device to bait people is unbecoming from a 'super member'.
Lets all bring some positivity back to this place and show all those who have left that we are still worth being joined at the keyboard when we have time.
Ps. Also appears in 'Feeling the Loss' thread 'cause I can't write it twice!

Slightly back on topic here. I don't use escorts. That doesn't mean I think it needs to be illegal.
Soldiering, the business of killing for pay is legal. Prostitution isn't. Can we see the really messed up picture here? Temples in almost all faiths through history have curtailed to keeping prostitutes. It like soldiering is a sacred profession.
Just my :2cents:. FWIW.

Well, I may not be a longtime member or what ever anyone wants to title themselves. I haven't even been here a year, but have been accepted by the dreaded 'clique' apparently. I hit and miss on the threads, because if I start reading and it isn't my cup of tea I QUIT READING IT!!!!! Rissa was one of my favorites to read because she is so entertaining and it was nice to see someone who was open enough to share her, in some peoples opinion, mundane life. I liked it because it let me know she is a NORMAL person with EVERYDAY problems. I came here for advice, friendship, and yea to find some friends that MAYBE could turn into a hook up. I found SO much more! Some of the forums are absolutely hilarious, while others are icky to me. I don't read the icky ones once my mind says, 'OMG! STOP!' I do however enjoy the Fran speak, though I can't always figure some words out, and most of the other long standing 'cliques' observations, advice, and jokes. What was said by other members was hurtful to someone who didn't mean any harm in their comment. I agree that when the law books change the name LEGALLY to sex trade worker, I will then call them a sex trade worker. Otherwise, I call them nothing, to be honest with you. Except maybe, desperate for money, trying to make ends meet the only way they think they can. There are many reasons a person may be selling sex, I am not here to judge them for it. I am here to do the best I can in a world full of intolerent, indignant, and sometimes ignorant people. If this offends you, you have fallen into the above listed group of people. I am sorry, there is no exit. And to be quite honest, I don't give a rats ass what your opinion of my post is. It's only my 2 cents, and I am entitled to it.

I'd want to make sure the person was not being exploited, coerced, or forced into prostitution, but I'm not sure where I'd find such information, which is why I steer clear of prostitution as a whole personally.

And also on topic...
I've never considered hiring an escort, but I have been looking at some of the M4M massage sites, and wondering how that might work out.
Has anyone here tried one?

So I guess an update here...no, I haven't hired an escort (yet) but I did have a conversation about it with my girlfriend. I don't like not telling her things that are on my mind, so I just went for it. She is actually quite supportive of the idea, in fact she thinks it could be the "best thing" for us and what I'm looking for. Her only want would be that the person shows up with a clean bill of health, but that's her hope with any hook-up for me, and at least in this case she is trusting that the person isn't just some random potential "psycho" I'm meeting on the internet.
So yeah...one step closer I suppose, lol.

Back to escorts... if it won't negatively affect your bank account, at least give it a shot. Then you'll have a real idea how works for you.
I used to dance - not much of a leap from prostitution. Only the fact that I made more $ not giving it up and considering obvious legalities, kept me from doing anything illegal. My sons were not grown then and I didn't need the $, though if that's the only way I could have supported them I would not have hesitated.
I've always believed it is 'each to his own'. Life is short. If you're not hurting yourself or someone else, do what you want!

Never. My husband has never hired a whore or prostitute either when single.
There's no need to pay for sex. There are enough people of any sex/gender who will have sex with you for free.

i wouldn't call her a escort to a fine looking whore. in the Philippines. back when i was in the navy to hang with me all day. back then it only cost $35 for all day. then if you wanted me we would talk price. well after hitting a bar she wanted $35 more to stay the night with me in my hotel. and i said sure and we got DRUNK her and i and 5 of my friends went to the hotel. and i was so drunk i passed out. and the next day my friends told me that since i was done they put up another $50 and did a train on her. by night time they all was screaming when they tried to piss. all 5 of them they all got the clap. the next day after seeing the doctors they came in and all i could say was marry Christmas. to this day i tell people thats was the best $35 i ever spent on a whore. and the only time.
