Even just shades of gray.

Creed, taste, and desire.
It is the subtile little differences

Tare us apart.
People are what people fear,
They come apart when they are near
Discovery of truth for self or another.
Difference is hard to accept,
When ignorance is all that is known.
Tolerance will someday come.

I really like what you wrote. There is a lot of wisdom packed into those few lines.

In fact, I believe an argument can be made that, not only intolerance toward others, but virtually all of our decisions in life can become driven by fear.
